Mutual funds bought shares worth a net Rs 471.30 crore on 2 January 2015, compared with their purchases of Rs 76.10 crore during the preceding trading session on 1 January 2015.
The net inflow of Rs 471.30 crore on 2 January 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1083.30 crore and gross sales of Rs 612 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex rose 8.12 points or 0.03% to settle at 27,507.54, its highest closing level since 22 December 2014.
Mutual funds have bought shares worth Rs 547.40 crore in this month so far (till 2 January 2015). Mutual funds had bought shares worth Rs 7036.90 crore in December 2014.
