Mutual funds bought shares worth a net Rs 76.10 crore on 1 January 2015, compared with their purchases of Rs 186 crore during the preceding trading session on 31 December 2014.
The net inflow of Rs 76.10 crore on 1 January 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 400.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 324.10 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex rose 8.12 points or 0.03% to settle at 27,507.54, its highest closing level since 22 December 2014.
Mutual funds have bought shares worth Rs 76.10 crore in this month so far (till 1 January 2015). Mutual funds had bought shares worth Rs 7036.90 crore in December 2014.
