Bond yields ease on lower crude oil price and rate cut hopes

10-year G-sec Paper yield declines to 7.84% 

The yield on 10-year benchmark federal paper, 8.40% GS 2024, declined 02 basis points to 7.84% at 11.01 IST, compared with 7.86% at close in the previous trading session. 

The total trading volume on the central bank's gilts trading platform stood at Rs 24090 crore. 

The bond yield declined in the early trading, tracking lower crude oil prices and interest rate cut expectations from the Reserve Bank of India. 

The weighted average rate in the overnight call money increased to 8.19% at 11.02 IST compared with 7.97% in the previous session. The call money rate was hovering in the range of 7.8% to 8.3% with the volume at Rs 5510.5 crore.
