Mutual funds in selling mode

Net outflow of Rs 263.30 crore on 8 July 2014

Mutual funds sold shares worth a net Rs 263.30 crore on Tuesday, 8 July 2014, compared with inflow of Rs 346.90 crore on Monday, 7 July 2014. 

The net outflow of Rs 263.30 crore on 8 July 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 739.50 crore and gross sales of Rs 1002.80 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had slumped 517.97 points or 1.98% to settle at 25,582.11 on that day, its lowest closing level since 1 July 2014. 

Mutual funds have sold shares worth a net Rs 379.90 crore in this month so far (till 8 July 2014). Mutual funds bought shares worth a net Rs 3339.60 crore last month.
