Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 244.48 crore on Monday, 21 July 2014, compared with net inflow of Rs 588.59 crore on Friday, 18 July 2014.
The net inflow of Rs 244.48 crore on 21 July 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2725.92 crore and gross sales of Rs 2481.44 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 215.60 crore into the secondary equity market on 21 July 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2690.69 crore and gross sales of Rs 2475.09 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had garnered 73.61 points or 0.29% to settle at 25,715.17 on that day, its highest closing level since 7 July 2014.
There was a net inflow of Rs 28.88 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 21 July 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 35.23 crore and gross sales of Rs 6.35 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 11587.93 crore in this month so far (till 21 July 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13990.75 crore in June 2014.
