Bond yield ended flat

10-year G-sec Paper yield closes at 8.67% 

The yield on 10-year benchmark federal paper, 8.83% GS 2023, closed steady at 8.67% same as the close in the previous trading session. The total trading volume on central banks gilts trading platform stood at Rs 56830 crore. 

Bond yield ended flat on comments from new Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on fiscal consolidation which offset continued profit booking. The new FM said his priorities would be to tackle inflation, boost economic growth and follow the path of fiscal consolidation among others. 

The weighted average rate in the overnight call money increased to 7.94% compared to 7.89% in the previous session. The call money rate hovered in the range of 7.25% to 8.05% with the volume of Rs 17120.87 crore.
