Outflow of Rs 32.30 crore on 20 January

Foreign institutional
investors (FIIs) offloaded shares worth a net Rs 32.30 crore on Wednesday, 20
January 2010, much lower
than Rs 451.50 crore on Tuesday, 19 January 2010.
FII outflow of Rs 32.30 crore on 20 January
2010 was a result of gross
purchases Rs 2711.70 crore and gross sales Rs 2744 crore. The secondary equity market sales totaled Rs 14.30
crore which was a result of gross purchases Rs 2703.20 crore and gross sales Rs
2717.50 crore. The BSE 30-share Sensex fell 11.57 points or 0.07% to 17,474.49
that day.
There was an outflow of Rs 18 crore in the
category 'primary market & others', which was a result of gross purchases
Rs 8.60 crore and gross sales Rs 26.50 crore.
FII inflow in January 2010 totaled Rs
7112.80 crore. FII had bought equities worth Rs 11,067.20 crore in December
2009. FII inflow in the calendar year 2009 was Rs 84,258 crore.
There are a total of 1,700 foreign funds
registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
