Bond yield rises

10-year G-sec Paper yield closes at 7.58%

The yield on 10-year benchmark federal paper, 7.72% GS 2025, increased by 04 basis point (bps) to 7.58% compared with 7.54% at close in the previous trading session. The total trading volume on central bank's gilts trading platform stood at Rs 42,275 crore.

The yield climbed the most in a month ahead of a report that may show inflation accelerated from a nine-month low and as oil prices extended last week's rally.

The weighted average rate in the overnight call money increased to 6.74% compared with 6.69% in previous session. The call money rate hovered in the range of 5.30% to 7.00% with the volume of Rs 13,387.23 crore.
