Trading to start at 9:00 IST from Friday, 18 December 2009
In a major development, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) today said it
has decided to extend trading hours by 55 minutes from Friday, 18
December 2009. Trading will start at 9:00 IST, instead of the present
timing of 9:55 IST.
NSE's decision to extend trading hours comes close on the heels of
rival bourse BSE's decision to increase trading hours. It may be
recalled that the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) had on Tuesday, 15
December 2009, announced that it will advance trading hours by 10
minutes from 18 December 2009. Trading in the equity and equity
derivatives segment on BSE will commence from 9:45 IST onwards, instead
of the present timing of 9:55 IST, the BSE had said.
